Where has the Summer Went????.....

First off I want to apologize for not updating the website but with all that has been going on this year I haven't had much time for anything besides work and riding.  Anyway I want to know where has the summer gone?  It seems like just a few short months ago we were knee deep in snow and couldn't wait for summer to come around again.  But then I look back on it and think man we did do some riding.  I have yet again put on 10,000 miles plus this year!  I've been to Missouri, Arkansas, and South Dakota this year.  Sturgis was one of the big highlights of this years riding adventures.  I think I speak for everyone when I say "WE RODE OURS STURGIS 2010!"  then immediatly after Sturgis we turn around and have Hawgstock 2 weekends later.  whooo....anyone else tired from running?  Well let's wrap this thing up right guys and gals.  Lets finish out 2010 with a BANG!

Cycles for Santa was a Success!

Cycles for Santa was a great success in large part to the participation of everyone.  I would like to be the first to congratulate you guys on raising over $200.00 and bringing in 5 toys.  Not too bad for something that was thrown together in under 3 weeks and with major concerns in regards to the weather.  All in all we had a great turn out there 16 bikes and roughly 25 people on the ride, which I look at as a big success because the events I organize are getting larger and more and more people are hearing about them which will definitely help us in future events we plan.  Larry Stanbrough commented to me while at Adel last weekend, "This has been the best poker run Nancy and I have ever been on.  Be sure to let us know when you guys plan another because this group is a blast to ride with."  which is something to be really proud of gang.  I know that these charity events can only keep growing and I can't wait to see whats in store for us in the future.

Conesville

I went to Conesville this weekend for Thuder in the Sands.  Let me tell you it was a LONG....LONG ride...especially for only spending about an hour there.  The hour that I did spend there was fun but I hurt something fierce the next day.  I think next year I will be driving up instead of riding!

Hawkstock...2009 (Big Kids Summer Camp)

Anyone who was at Hawgstock knows that it was a blast.  It was my first year to enjoy this event and I will be the first to tell you that it was not a let down.  However the Bikes Reving all night did somewhat hamper my experience on Friday Night.  But all in all it was a great time!  A BIG thanks goes out to Paul and Cat and the entire Hawgstock Crew for Organizing it...THANKS!  See you guys next year!

Rod and Russ Return!

Rod and russ returned from their trip rested and relaxed.  I spoke to Rod a little after they got back and he said it was a great ride and that the group should definitely take it.  So who knows maybe we can go on it some time in the future.  Anyway I'm sure everyone is happy to have them back safely!

We are still a Group!

I have been asked if the Midwest Marauders are still a group... My aswer is Yes!  We will always be a group.  I know this may sound a bit inspirational and it may cause people to jump up and scream haleluiah!!! but the truth of the matter is this, Patch or no patch we are still a group.  We may not have the same color vests or ride in a specific order but that doesn't make us any less of a group.  W started this group based on friendship and the joy of riding together and I will be damned if I see that fade away.  I am glad that we started the group because it gave me a chance to meet all of you guys who I now consider very good friends!  Once a Marauder always a Marauder!

St. Judes Ride was a Success!

Well The Cruisin' For St. Judes Event was a Success!  Chalk that one up for a win!  We ended up raising a grand total of $2,774.26!!!!!!!!!   I want to thank all of you who rode with us and especially those who took time out of their busy schedule to go out and raise money!  A big thanks goes out to Mary at the Montgomery Street Pub in Creston who raised $400.00 all by herself!  That is awesome!  Anyway I look forward to doing this again next year!

Bike Night in Winterset is a Hit!

Bike night in Winterset was held Saturday, April 11th from 6:00 to 10:00p.m.   Bill pulled me aside and told me he was extremely amazed with the turn out.  "They started showing up at quarter to 5!" says Bill.  Anyway now that we know it is going to be good we can start re-investing in it by expanding the grounds and adding a vendor row, getting a live band to perform and make it more user friendly for everyone.  I did get a some time to talk to a few people and they said that they wouldn't mind parking in the gravel so we are going to take the snowfence to the south and west in hopes that we will draw a bigger crowd for future events.  I would like to personally thank everyone who showed up and supported the event and next month I hope to have a bigger turn out!  Watch out Indianola cause here comes Winterset!
